Consumer Law, Warranties Breach of contract?

About two years ago, I signed a three year contract for a martial arts school. (This school teaches several forms of martial arts.) For the first year, it was wonderful! But then, the kung fu instructor left and a new instructor was put in place. This instructor does not teach, and hasn't for almost a year. He only talks to my son about video games and tells my son that he doesn't know enough to teach him more than what he's already learned, and that he was only doing a favor for the owner of the school and had no real interest in teaching anyway.

Now, this instructor is leaving next month, and another new instructor will be put into place. This young man started after my son, but since my son is only 12 he was not asked to be an instructor. (Not that my son knows enough anyway! It would be silly.) This young man doesn't know enough to teach!

I like everyone in the school, but can't see wasting the next year and a half doing nothing but talking about video games. And my son wants so desperately to learn more!! He's only been tested once in almost two years, and he wants his belts!

This week, the instructor left my son and another student on their own while he talked to another person for personal reasons... for almost the entire class!

Does this constitute a breach of contract? My son was supposed to be taught a martial art... not to critique video games. What do I do? Do I have a leg to stand on?

Thank you for your advice!

Many health/fitness agreements offer a cancellation if the facility signifigantly changes the service offered. Take a look at the fine print. You may be able to cancel under this clause. Good Luck:)
