My jurisdiction is: Ohio

I have lived in my new apartment for 30 days, my first day here, kids ran through my apartment, I called my landlord, "someone must of accidently" left my door unlocked. No problem. 2 days later, the same little girl who told me the neighborhood boys were running through my apartment, asked me if I had roaches. I've NEVER seen baby roaches, but I did kill a bug that morning on my kitchen floor. I called the landlord, she told me that they spray once a week for roaches on Wednesday, I had called her on Wednesday but too late and I'd have to wait until next week, in the meantime I could go buy something and spray it myself. I have a one year old, I put borax down because it's the only thing I've heard works, he got into it, I took it off the floor. Saw numerous roaches. They came and sprayed on Wednesday, Haven't seen roaches since. Hooked up my washer and dryer the next week, my dinning room, kitchen and foyer was flooded because the washer drain was clogged. They resolved that issue. My tub couldn't drain even after i put two things of drain-o in it, they resolved that. This past week, they had a man who lived with his girlfriend kill her, dismember her and throw her parts in the pond and the dumpster. The cops had been out here before with them two for domestic issues, my idea is if you don't want that crap here you wouldn't have let them stay for another lease term right? My biggest problem is I feel I pay to much for all this crap and what kind of other weirdos do they allow to stay? Mind you I had to take a drug test to live here, probably should've been my first clue. So my question is can I legally leave or am I stuck to deal with more surprises? If I leave whats the worse scenario other then having to pay until it is re-rented?

The worst case scenario is (as you've written) is owing rent for the unit until it is rerented.

All the repair issues you describe appear to have been addressed adequately by the landlord/management. And, of course, they're not responsible for some tenant bumping off his girlfriend and chopping her up into pieces.

As such, you have no defense to be able to break your lease legally (i.e., without the risk of financial penalty).
