Breaking a Lease- Scary Neighbor

This past Monday I left my apartment to sign a lease at the management office. When leaving the apartment I noticed my neighbors boyfriend who is not on her lease but resides with her in the car. I never acknowledge him because he creeps me out. In the past I have had to calll the police on him for attacking her and have reported it to the management office. I also informed my manager that he is quietly passive/aggressive to me. She informed me that he was not on the lease and that she would take care of it, that was nine months ago yet he still remains. Back to the original question, Approximately 15 minutes after signing the lease I returned to my apartment to find a pornographic dvd jacket proped up on my door. I know the DVD did not fall because it was strategically placed between my door and mat. I also know that my neighboors boyfriend placed it there because I did speak with her on yesterday and she confirmed that she saw it in the house and that he was supposed to throw it away. To make a long story short I called took pictures of the DVD and the position it was sitting on my door, I called the police who came and confiscated the DVD I also have drafted a letter to the property management company and the complex itself requesting to be transferred to another apartment. I donot want to stay in my apartment because I donot feel safe. Even if the apartment manager evicts my neighbors I donot want to reside in that apartment. If they refuse to move me I am going to vacate the lease and fight the eviction in court. Legally is this wise to do?

No that would not be wise it would be foolish. You would then owe rent for entire time your paprtment remains empty until rerented
