i jus sign a lease for a year and i would like to break the lease legally with no harm to both parties involved the apartment complex and myself i live in houston tx and not sure what the law is here when dealing with the above

There are few reasons to break a lease legally (being in the military and being reassigned is one; another is if the rental unit is deemed uninhabitable.).

Many folks who must break a lease ask their landlord if they would agree to allowing the unit to be sublet; the tenant finds another person to take over the rent.

Some leases state that a lease may be broken with the tenant paying a certain fee (generally one or two months rent; this will allow time for the landlord to find another tenant without loss of revenue). Have you checked your lease for such a provision?
