My question: Can we legally break our lease under the nuisance law?
Our next door neighbor has an adult son with paranoid schizophrenia.
Today he nearly burned the house down.
I am afraid if he gets released he will retaliate since I called 911 and I am afraid for the safety of my family and myself.
What does the law state in a case like this?

Thank you

cvlp you are increasingly vague with your description of facts.

He nearly burned your house down, or his own?

I don't understand how he is a nuisance to you?

Why did you call 911?

How long is your lease for?

How does his mental health interfere with your comfortable enjoyment of life and property?

From what it sounds like he has done nothing to you, and all I can recommend is to talk with your neighbors about your fears. If things become worse consult with your landlord. I believe you are greatly overacting, and nothing you have said would constitute community nuisance laws.

Sorry I know that is not the answer you are looking for.
