We signed a 2 year lease and have been in the property for 6 months. The Landlord has not fixed anything on the punch list we gave him on move in. We have called and fought with him now for 6 months. Many items are very dangerous like open electrical panel and we have grandchildren in the house. The furnace is not kepping the house warm, etc, etc. Everyone is constantly sick. My husband has cancer and with all the chemo/radiation, he just cannot take this any longer. Can we break the lease because the landlord has not fulfilled his promises? We have to get out of this situation, it is making my husband even more sick.

Check with Health department for Health code violations. Then take this documentation to Landlord to fix or release you from lease. You cant just up and leave without penalty. Before you do anything get the problems documented and the Landlord's refusal or avoidance to repair these items
