I can't afford a lawyer, and her lawyer skipped the friend of the court and went to mediation which I signed because I didn't know that the Foc Was free. She told me she was going to do mediation at the last second because she can't afford it. I need help on what motions to file to either A) compel her to do mediation in January or B) if she can't pony up for mediation that we revert back to the friend of the court.

You can start researching divorce in Michigan using Google, Bing, or Yahoo.
You can also meet with three or four divorce lawyers in your county for free, the initial consultation ONLY.

You'll get 20-30 minutes to ask questions about divorce in your county.
That's your best bet to assist in getting up to speed on divorce in MI.

You may also call the local bar association to see what type of free legal assistance they may be able to provide. They do have resources that are available and which might prove helpful to you. Best of luck to you.
