I live in North Carolina and have a lease issue from Massachusetts. Myself, Kim Ward, and Keith Valincourt were on the lease. Keith left the lease before it expired. The Lease Place has hired a collection agency to obtain fees required. They want $275 a piece for breaking the lease and another month rent $560 because they did not lease the apartment again until a month later. The collection agency says we have to pay $130 immediately and then $260 per month until the full amount is received. The problem is neither one of us have that kind of money. We are able to make some kind of payment schedule but they will not accept that. Also note I did try to dispute their claim, I wrote a letter to them about why I want to dispute the amount owed but never received a reply. Is there anything I can do?
