a guy off craigslist sold my family a 4Runner 7000$ that has heavy rust on the undercarriage and is unsafe to drive. Mechanics said it was most likely in a flood and sat in standing water to have that kind of damage. they said it was clear someone was trying to hide the rust with paint and zip tied the brake line that had rusted off. I have evidence that he bought the car two weeks prior to selling it to me and was full aware of its rust issues yet did not tell us. He lied about "selling it for his wife" but we contacted who he bought it from on ebay 3000$ and confirmed that she is not his wife and was very clear about the rust damages because she didn't want to screw someone over like she had been. We discovered he jumped the tile and never registered it in his name. We discovered that he forged the bill of sale with his sellers name, and she confirmed. We never signed the bill of sale and haven't registered it in our name. We discovered that his Negligent Misrepresentation put my families lives at risk. We are getting evidence to take him to small claims.
ARE THERE ANY LAWS THAT CAN SUPPORT OUR CASE AGAINST THIS CROOK?

Sorry, but you have no case for small claims or any other court.

Title jumping is probably illegal in CO as it is anywhere else but any penalty for that is between the seller and the state. Feel free to report it to the DMV or the appropriate authorities but that isn't likely going to undo the deal that you made.

And that deal was that you bought the vehicle AS IS, apparently without having it inspected by a mechanic before buying or all its warts would have been exposed.

Shame on anyone who buys a motor vehicle via craigslist, ebay, etc and does not have it inspected by a qualified mechanic prior to the sale. You should be expecting to get ripped off when buying through those channels.

Amen brother, Amen!!!

If the sellers signature to you is a forgery, then that might be your way out rather than trying to return it for the condition. As noted, you bought it as is.
