hello! so i am 16 and go go a high school in Texas, at lunch i was joking with my friends and had a bag of Tyme, i slid it out and said ill give you weed if you buy me chicken nuggets, now they knew it wasn't weed we had a good laugh and i put it away. 7th period came around and an AP came in grabbed my backpack then told me to go with her, so i did i went into the AP office where they told me someone reported that i had weed, so i told them what had happened and handed them the bag of Tyme, they proceeded to take all of my stuff and search through it, opening every makeup bottle i had and taking my stuff apart. then they made me take my shoes off and checked my waist band. In the end they gave me TEN DAYS of iss ( if you dont know what that is its when they take you into a room and you arent allowed to talk to anyone for 8 hours, you arent allowed to move unless you are going to lunch, you write the school rules, and you have a separate lunch from everyone else) im failing 4 of my classes and have missed 5 weeks of school so this was devastating to me because now i get to be even more behind, so just out of curiosity where any of these actions illegal?

Nope. Not illegal.
In fact, in some jurisdictions you could potentially be charged with a crime. You made a poor decision and hopefully you learn from the consequence.

Yes, legal in Texas and 49 other states.

I suggest you discuss this matter with your parents.

At age 16 you have some options, if your parents support your potential choices.

You can drop out of school and work on getting a GED.

If you get busy, stop fooling around, you could have your GED in march or April, instead of potentially failing this year, not being promoted, repeating this year next fall, and not graduating from High School (assuming you do or can) until May of 2020.

Your problem is you're behind.
Don't worry about how you got here, focus on getting out of here and getting ahead.

Complete a GED and you could be working full time by June of 2017.
Heck, at age 16, with your parents permission, you could go straight to community college and get a trade, a skill, or an AA by May of 2019 instead of a possible diploma from high school in 2020 MAYBE.

I work with a number of at risk kids that get into trouble all the time.
Our effort saves dozens of kids in our little community annually.
Plus, all those bad things on your school record will also hurt you.
None of that matters in getting your GED or going to a community college.
Talk to yoru parents, ask them to help.
You seem like a good kid that does stupid stuff.
That can be funny in high school, but it eventually will get you arrested and in trouble with the real law.
Stop talking about illegal drugs.
As you can see, that just brings trouble, setback, embarrassment, and you lose.

Nothing illegal... Based on the information you posted doesn't sound like you care anyway. At some point in your life you need to grow up.
