I was wondering if a third party building inspector could be put in jail for doing his/her job incorrectly. Two inspectors working on the city center project (harmon tower) in las vegas (project owned by MGM) have been fined and must appear at a hearing next month to plead their case. Their oversites have caused the high rise tower to end at 22 floors instead of 49. This mistake has cost MGM millions, and possibly the whole cosulting firm to go under. 15 of the 22 floors did not comply with the approved plans and between the two inspectors 64 non-compliance reports were faulty. Can these inspectors get jail time?
