In June a there was an accident in front of my house, in trying to gain control of the car and elderly lady slammed the gas instead of the break and crashed into my house. It was deemed structuraly unsound and I've been displace for about 7 weeks. The orginal estimate was 4 weeks to repair the extensive damage, but now they're asking for another 4 weeks on top of the previous 7.

Is this grounds to break my lease so that I can move into a new home?

Geico, the drivers car insurance company is paying for my hotel, however, I am still paying rent to my landlady.

You can certainly make the request that because of this extensive damage to the rental unit (and the time involved in repairing this) you be allowed to break your lease.
