Don't know if this is the right category but here goes.
I shared a home w/ my X for 2 years before we split up and we both paid for everything equally together.
The home was in her name and she technically wrote the check for the mortgage but i paid alot of the utilites and bought the moajority of things we needed.
We did quite a few improvements to the home while we resided there(which i paid for) and hence had gained 10-20k worth of Equity just in that 2 year period....although that might be non-existant now
Last may i moved out of the home and ended up paying the mortgage solely by myself for the months of aug-nov, allthough i gave her cash for all of this.
I also bought her a Mac notebook and gave her quite a lot of $$$ so she could get by.
She had just finished her residency and had not taken a position as a physician so she was unemplyed @ this point and had no obvious way to pay for the house or for living expenses.
Can i file a lien against the house for the money i put into it or for the 4 mortgage payments i paid for her?
I have very little evidence of this but am almost posative i can get her to admit it in a phone conversation, and i can't fathem that she would lie in court.
She verbally agreed to pay me back for the monies lent.
Or would i be better off taking her to small claims court, or can i do both?
We shared the home from aug 2005-may-2007.....and i paid the mortgage and paid for all her living expenses from aug-nov 2007.
Thanks for any and all help.

Since she has already agreed (as least verbally) to pay you back for the four months mortgage you paid, have you two worked out a payment plan for her to do this?

Hello Gail, thank for the response.
The reason I posted this question is becasue she now refuses to pay me for anything.
She's still very bitter towards me about our breakup(and rightfully so as i was unfaithfull to her) and now tells me that I owed it to her for those months that i was paying for everything and refuses to give me anything.
Shes since taken a job in a different city and the house that we both shared has now sat vacant for 5 months.
So to answer your question. No. No payment plan has been established and no timeline has been given.

You probably need to sue her. You cannot file a lien without a judegement against her.
