Need some help here....any feedback is much appreciated.
There was an apartment I was interested in. About 4 weeks ago, I completed and signed the credit application, and sent checks for Security and 1st month's rent.
He called about a week later saying my credit app was approved and the apartment was mine. He then went ahead and cashed my checks for Security deposit and 1st month's rent.
However, I NEVER signed the lease. I am not sure he was allowed to cash those checks since I never signed the lease.
I now want to back-out and cancel.
The credit app states only the application fee ($35) is non-refundable. It makes no mention of the Security and 1st month'rent.
My move-in date was supposed to be August 01.
Can I get my money returned?
