Can I not put the father of my child's name on the birth certificate?

I am 17 and hes 21... we are in a committed relationship. My parents love him... however I am hearing if I put his name on the birth certificate, the state might come after him or seperate us... Is this true?

and considering i am not 18 (a legal adult) yet... they could try to come after him... I figured it would be okay but people keep telling me otherwise

So this is about protecting your rapist BF? News flash your Doctor is a mandated reporter. Once he reports this crime, yes it was a crime. It wont be hard to trace the rape to your BF and even if denied the child's dna will be the proof. Not listing him wont save him
