I bought a used Audi, 2008 a4, through Sonnen in San Rafael on July 25th. It is a black a4 CPO vehicle with car fax in hand and a 300 point inspection listing that this car had not been in an accident nor altered in any way. A couple weeks later I found out through a mechanic who had tinted my windows that this car had some body work done... I asked how did he know and he pointed to the passenger side door and showed me that they were indeed a different color that the rest of the car. In the sunlight you could see a distinct difference in the doors which appeared to be a coffee black color to the side quarter panel and the fender which both were Audi black or flat black… We then turned the car around so the sun light was on the driver's side and it was the same outcome except only one door was different which was the driver's door but not the passenger side. I called Audi on aug17th and explained this dissatisfaction to them and they set me up with an appointment Friday aug26 a week and a half later but also my 30th day of purchase. I met with Sara beck and Shawna service reps and Sara indeed saw the same discoloration in the panels and we also noticed the bumpers and hood were affected as well. They sent me to visit their Audi certified body shop, Barsotti's, where I met with Roland Kaiser and his partner and they inspected the car to verify if it have body work done. They indeed found evidence that work was done all over the car, which it has been repainted, and it wasn't done by an Audi approved body shop because of overspray. I then called Audi corporate whom I have been in contact with, Erin Troup ext 43343, and told her what was found and that I requested another car because I DID NOT expect to buy a car that had bodywork done, there was no disclosure that this had accrued, and I just wanted a car that met my expectation of what a CPO should be. Which I also expected Audi of all car dealers to understand that.
I received a call today 9-7-11 at 1pm, while I was in class, from Erin of corporate Audi and she said Audi will NOT accept my request for another vehicle. I was outraged. She also said "you didn't even notice it till the mechanic told you"! I could not believe this response…I replied "does that make it ok? "... "Is this ok by Audi standards?" infuriated I told her I would call her back after class, and when I did at 2:57pm she had gone home early for the day. She did say that she could set up a meeting with the area and sales manager but it is unlikely that I would get another vehicle. I think this is unacceptable, how this company can expect for me to just accept this kind of disrespect and keep a car that is patched together. I feel alone in fighting a company of this size and in this meeting, if it were to ever happen, I would like any assistance you could provide even if a representative would like to accompany me to Sonnen I would really appreciate it. Thanks for hearing my story, and I would love to hear from anyone.

You are alone, dude.

You bought a used car.

If you have a claim, it might be against Car Fax.

I doubt that they're liable.

Why?

The repair could have been done without the insurance company's knowledge.

The previous owner could have paid cash.

You're asking for too much.

You bought a used car.

It isn't a luxury car.

The manufacturer isn't responsible for what the previous owner might have done.

I'm afraid, you're stuck with the beat up bucket of bolts you bought!!!!

wow army judge huh, you should quit wasting other people time by throwing in your sarcastic and childish remarks. If you don't have anything usefully to say don't waste my time or anybody else's so you could get ur rocks of on other peoples concerns. Grow up, get a life, find something else to do
