My fiance's ex recently served us with papers to take my fiance to court. The dispute is over an account with Hewlett Packard. His ex opened it in her name (because she had better credit than he did) and bought my fiance a very expensive computer when they were together. He continued to pay the bill even after he moved out (he took his computer with him) and they have since been separated for over two years. About 3 months ago, he made a final attempt to get what remained of his things from her house and she refused stating that she wouldn't return things that they both agreed were his, until he paid off the bill because she didn't want it on HER credit anymore. He decided that the things that were left at her house were probably not even in functioning condition anymore and to let her keep them and in return he quit paying on the computer. Now she is trying to sue him to pay off the remaining balance. Can she do this???
