My friend has 4 kids, two girls who are 4 and 9 and two boys 5 and 11. She is staying with her boyfriend in a camper at the moment trying to find a place. The boys share a bed and the girls share a bed. The father of the oldest two called cps and cps says it's a law that kids of the opposite sex can't sleep in the same room. Is it Colorado law that they can't? Or is cps lying?

There is no hard fast law. There are violations of law and there are standards that can cause CPS to investigate or remove the children. It sounds like her and her boyfriend need to move into the living room and let the girls have their own room.

There is no actual law against this in Colorado is my understanding. However, a court could determine that this is not acceptable depending on the ages of the children, whether there is available space to separate them etc.
