I am the step dad to a 16 year old. This weekend she stole some things from her brother and put them in "her car". (Her father owns it) The car was parked in front of my house. I went to look in side the car; I could see the articles under the front seat, I could also see a small pink bag sticking out of the center consol between the seats. I checked to see if the door was unlocked, and it was. I opened the door and removed the pink bag and found 2 pot pipes and a lighter. I called the police and she got a ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia…. My questions. Will the ticket hold up in court? Can I get in trouble for searching a car that was not registered to her?
The ticket is not that big of an offense, but it will violate her "terms of release" for another crime.

Thanks
