can they garnish me?

ok, my husband had lived in a old apartment and they said he trashed it. He told them he didnt' and so they said they would take him to court. Well they served his mom the papers for him and we never got them. and the court is now going to garnish his wages. But can they even do this when he never personally got served?

Yes, He got served because his mom took the papers-- other wise she should have said he does not live here -- She should have informed him of the papers and the court date
