Criminal Trials, Hearings Can they lie at DA's office?

I was told last week at DA's office that charges against me will be dismissed. I called today and my case is still active. They said again that the charges will be dismissed but they need time for processing, may be 2 more weeks.
Probably, I am being paranoid ... but can they just be lying to me and meanwhile continue prosecuting me? Does it really take so long to dismiss the case?
Help will be very much appreciated.

They would not lie to you.............They are meant to uphold the law. Some charges need the DA and judge's approval for dismissal. As you know, there are thousands of files in the dockets.............They follow a time table to review different things............Just be patient….It could even take a month depending on their docket!
