In December I was currently in college but at the end of the semester I needed to save money and so I decided to take time off to do so. During the month of December my manager would come up and ask and wanted to know if I could work full time I told them in January I could and we were all set for me to go full time in January.
Come January they hired a new VP that was over my position and made terms to going full time. I hadn't worked there long enough to meet those terms and they came to me in January saying I couldn't go full time anymore. I took that semester off for school and stayed at this job expecting a full time position. I would of looked for a new job in December if I knew they would do this in January. I have lost a bunch of time and funds because of this happening and need to take an additional semester off to save. Do I have cause for a suit for the situation?

Without a binding contract indicating a full time position as of Jan. - NO. Sorry.

Lying is legal in all 50 states.
Lying is illegal when dealing with a federal law enforcement agent, or in most cases the police.
It's also illegal under oath, and that's not just in a courtroom.
Otherwise, lying hasn't been outlawed, lying is still alive and well all over this country.
