Canceled check payment

I canceled a payment with my creditor, but they processed anyways. Now I have been charged hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees. Are they responsible for paying the overdraft fees?

More information, please. How did you cancel? Do you have confirmation? How/why did they process anyways? Have you contacted your bank to see if they will reverse the charges?
