We signed three separate contracts with a contracting company back in January. One was to knock out the back of the house and install a new kitchen, one was for new roofing, and the last to put a deck on the back of the house. Since then we have had numerous run-ins with the contractor over services performed and the kitchen still is not finished six months later. We are looking into trying to cancel the contract for the deck as we do not believe the end product will be worth all of the additional aggravation. Do we have any recourse here?

What does the contract say about termination? Have you asked the contractor about cancelling? He may want out as much as you do.

The contract has the usual termination "clause" that had to be exercised within 3 working days of signing the contract. We will be talking with them this afternoon about cancelling the last contract. We have a meeting with the "middle man" from the office and the project manager to discuss our concerns and the fact that they have put us on hold and will not do any more work on the project. Nothing like a six-month nightmare to make you appreciate life!
