My jurisdiction is: CA

I had a General Contractors lic. (sole prop) A dispute led to an arbitration award to the consumer in the amount of 50k. In addtion to that I owe the bond company 10k and a labor award of 7k. I lost everything during the downturn including the business. I can't pruduce enough income to pay these debts. All of these amounts have turned to judgements due to non payment. I won't realistically be able to pay on these for the next 10 to 14 months. I don't own a home, and have no assets. My questions are as follows;

1) How do I avoid further legal action for the near future.
2) How can I protect my wifes income from liens, or garnishments? She is
partially disabled, on fixed income.

1) You can't. If you owe debts that are due, it is the creditor's remedy to sue you.

2) If your wife isn't connected to your sole proprietorship, her assets shouldn't be subject to the debts of the partnership.
