Hey people,

I had a question about a 'Capias Warrant'.

'The Cambece Law Firm' issued a capias on my mother for a bill that I am paying on her behalf. I have missed some payments and got a capias, talked to the sheriffs dept. and then made a payment to the collector,

Then I had to go to court, made some payment arrangments but didn't pay within' the time given. Now, the collector has issued a capias against My mother and now the debt collector's account manager says that they will not accept nothing but the full amount and will not accept anything less than the full amount due.

Is this legal for a debt collector to do, can someone give Me some advice.

Dan:(

First of all, debt collectors do not issue warrants.

Second of all, capias warrants are not used in civil cases.

So please tell us what you are talking about.

The sheriffs dept. issued the warrant via the debtor through the court. The capias clearly states that you can be arrested if no response is made.
