My daughter bought a used 2008 Saturn Vue less than a year ago from a dealership and the first time it rained all the floors were soaking wet. She had to have the padding replaced by a local detailer and the black mold they also found removed. When she contacted the dealership they fought about it but we were eventually able to get them to pay for her detailing. Then she left for College in Tennessee. The problem continued and she took it into a dealership down there and they said they fixed the problem so she had it detailed again. Now she is back home in Wisconsin and yet again when it rained today the floors are all wet. The dealership claims they never had it happen but it is in impossible because if she parks it outside when it rains it happens every time since she bought it! She is a college student and money is tight and of course she is very frustrated. The smell won't go away and even though she shop vacs. it out right away every time it happens the floors are all discolored now from rust. Does she have any rights to go after the dealership?? Thanks!!

She bought an old car, a six year old car at the time.

The car sounds like it was salvaged or damaged in flood.

Besides getting any old car evaluated by a good, trusted mechanic, you also need to run a CarFax.

If that isn't an option, use your "spidey" senses at the first sign of any doubt and just walk away, don't do the deal.

When you buy an old car, you are buying problems, buckets of problems.

Buyer beware!

She got taken, and its far too late to seek a remedy in the courts at this late date.

Has the location of the leak been determined? The door seals? The firewall? A water leak should be fairly easy to stop once you find the source of the problem.
