Hi everyone.

My grandpa died a few months ago and I am currently using his car. It has 110,000 mileage and has 2 more years to pay. I have been paying for it with the bank. I tried to refinance it so it can be under my name however I got denied by 2 bank because of excessive mileage. The car insurance is still under his name but I am a registered driver of the policy.

1. Will it be a problem if in case I got involved in an accident? because he's dead.
2. What can I do to transfer it to my name? like my grandma signing a legal paper?
3. Any other options?

Thanks in advance and i really appreciate it.

If you're a registered driver then I'm not sure that there is a problem with you using the car. Regarding transfer of the car, what is happening with his estate? It would seem that if the property passed to your grandmother, she would be able to sign over the title to you. She may need to fill out some paperwork for the DMV before it would be effective but I think you understand what needs to be done. Good luck.
