I purchased a 2013 Dodge Avenger a dealership 9/20/13. I put down a $500.00 deposit. When I made it home my partner and I checked out the car and noticed that the mileage noted on the paperwork was incorrect. I contacted the dealership the next day and was assured that it was not a big deal and would not interfere with the terms of my warranty. I was contacted shortly after that via text message by an employee. He premised his text saying that he wanted to talk about my titling. When I returned his texts it became obvious that he had ulterior motives for contacting me so I ceased communication.
When another employee contacted me about my bank interview, I informed her that I preferred to communicate via cell phone because I did not want to be in a situation where the previous over-friendly staff member might be the employee that was on the phone. I also contacted the bank that was in charge of my financing and was informed that they could not proceed with their interview because the dealership had not submitted the appropriate information yet. I made the employee aware of this and she committed to contacting me as soon as she submitted the information so that I would be able to talk to the bank. I did not hear back from her and when I called her repeatedly she did not answer.
It was at this point that I began receiving voicemail messages from other employees that indicated I needed to come into the office and re-sign all of my paperwork for the bank. I was unable to come in first thing in the morning as I had a family emergency requiring me to drive to another state. When I returned home yesterday evening I had several voicemails from the dealership and when I made contact with the dealership I began heading toward Lexington. I live an hour away from Lexington and as I was on my way I began receiving threatening text messages from a man identifying himself as an employee. As I continued to make my way into the dealership I became lost, as I have only been in this large city 3 other times in my life. I contacted the staff member and he told me that he couldn't help me and that I need to be at the dealership now or he would call the police and have me arrested for stealing the car. He was very rude and aggressive but I wanted to get this matter resolved so I contacted another man who had previously spoken with me concerning the matter and he was able to help me find the dealership.
When I arrived I began printing the paperwork that I had previously submitted in order to get the original financing. At this point the man handling the issue came to me and said that the documents were not acceptable and he asked for my keys. I was informed that I needed to leave the car and I could come back today and maybe he could figure something out. Another employee escorted my partner and me to the car where we began removing our belongings. We informed the other employee that our original financing person indicated me to that he knew my paperwork was not something that would usually be accepted but that he had called in a few favors to get me approved. I am a college student majoring in English and in Education and I also work for the school. I am preparing to begin my student teaching. The man I spoke with originally told me that the bank would ask where I was employed and I would say the name of the college. They would then ask me what I did and I would respond that I taught. He indicated that this was acceptable and that the favors he had called in had made this possible.
Naturally I was concerned about doing this because it seemed suspicious. However, I never actually had my bank interview and the bank indicated to me that this was because the dealership did not submit the required information to them in a timely manner. At any rate, the young salesman who was present last night called a driver to take us home and we were not permitted to take the vehicle.
I have all of the text messages and records showing that I contacted the dealership and the bank regularly. I have contacted the dealership to see what they will do to resolve this matter without an outside party but they have yet to respond. Do I have a legal case?

Case, no way. You're NOT entitled to financing. You're better off not doing this crooked deal.

The odometer was something you could have beefed.
