My friends son was a selling a car for 450$. Yes it was a junker but my daughter needed a car and my dad was willing to help fix minor things. The kid selling it wanted deposit so we have him 200$. The next week I had the rest of the money and we were going to switch title over. However the title was not a Ky titles he has bought it in Ohio and never transfered it over. I explained to him that he couldn't sell me ohio titles car in Ky. He was not happy about it and proceeded to call and find out how much it would cost to tansfer title....251$ is how much he told me it would cost. At that time mom stepped in and said this is too much to do you are not selling the car. He apologized and said he would meet with me to return money. I waited 4 days with no text or message from him . so I text him and asked for my money. Mom stepped in said keep son out of this I will pay you back. I asked for it that Saturday. She now will not return calls messages etc and has blocked me on Facebook. Anything i can do. My daughter still needs a car the girls son spent the money.

You'll need more than "I paid her".
Any receipt?
If not, you can sue someone in small claims court.
If that someone is a minor, I'd forget it.
If that someone is an adult, I'd forget it.
The number one rule all across the world, never pay before you get the goods.

Well I have on line text from her son who is not a minor and his mother who have both text about owing me the money and how they plan on paying it back. This is someone worked with and considered a friend. This money was money my daughter saved up to help pay for the car.

That's why I only have him 200 it was so he knew I was serious about buying the car.

You will probably have to try suing in small claims court. (if you believe it is worth the time & money)

Small Claims court is the route to take. You pay the filing fee up front. If they lose the case against them they end up paying the filing fee back to you. IF you get the money...... You can ask the judge for wage garnishment
