Car Title Issues

I Have A Car Jointly With Someone. Initially I Was To Be The Cosigner But I Am The Primary (credit And Income). The Joint Owner Has Physical Possession Of The Vehicle. For Teh First Year, I Paid Both The Monthly Car Note And The Insurance On The Car. In Feb '08, The Joint Owner Did Start Making Payments, But In June Discontinued Citing Financial Issues. He Also Failed To Register The Car And Therefore Has Expired Tags On The Vehicle. I Have Spoken With The Bank Who Is Williing To Work With Me On The Payments; However, I Need To Gain Physical Possession Of The Vehicle. I Still Have Car Insurance On The Vehicle. The Joint Owner Refuses To Deliver The Car And Is Presently Hiding The Vehicle. What Legal Rights Do I Have Right Now?

All the rights in the world--- call a repo company and get it picked up-- once you have it in your possession let the bank now and refinance it in your name and get that person off the title. If they find the car and try to take it back that would be considered theft. If you don't get that title out of this persons name they have rights to the car too. And it would be considered a civil matter.
