Here is a summary of what happened to me:

1. I took my car into a local shop that specializes in installations of aftermarket alarm and keyless entry systems.

2. I purchased the parts I wanted to have installed by this local shop off the internet

3. The shop installed the parts for me, but in the process ended up damaging the original factory hardware in my doors and my car which has prevented me from using my car.

4. Upon completion of the install, I noticed that this was a very poor installation: parts were missing from my doors, wires were hanging out everywhere and I could not open some of my car doors due the fact the shop had damaged it.

5. Before leaving the shop, I filed a police report

6. The next day, I took the car to another reputable big chain shop to see if they could fix the damage done by the original installer. The 2nd shop declined the work and gave me a statement of their opinion that my car was dangerous and hazardous due to the poor workmanship by the first company.

7. The original shop is willing to fix the damage that was done, but I do not have faith that they know what they are doing. Plus, since my car is still under factory warranty (provided they haven't already voided it), I am concerned about taking my car back to the original installer.

What are my rights here? Can I take my car to another more reputable shop and demand that the original installer pay for the repair and reinstallation of the parts that I asked him to install?

Anyone in Georgia, please help!!

Thanks

Sue the bad person in small claims court for the actual dollar amount of your damage.

So, there's no law in Georgia that states that I have to take it back to the original shop for another stab at trying to mess up my car?

Can I just decline the original shop's offer to fix my car and take my car elsehwere? Is that a bad-faith move?

Thanks
