Car window broker during job interview

I went to a job interview today. I parked my car in the company's parking lot around 4:50p. When I came back 2 hours later from the job interview, I saw my passenger side window was broken. My GPS, cellphone, wallet were all stolen from the car. The company owner and I reivewed the security camera tapes and saw a guy broken into my car and took valueables. The owner of the company I interviewed with was willing to buy me a new GPS. However, I estimate the total loss is $1500. I want to know if I may sue the company for damage.
