Ex boyfriend had bought a car and he has no license so he put it in someones name and then that person had left the country so he had that person sign the title and i put the car in my name. I have carried insurance on the car the whole time. I recently moved to another state and the car is parked at his house but of course i removed the plates so he will not drive it. He is trying to put the var in someone elses name to get plates. I signed the title but in the buyers section so he woyldnt try to sell it. Is the var legally mine. I told him i was coming to get it bit he wont give me his new address and said it is his car because he paid for it originally. What are my options and is the car legally mine. Title and reg are in my name.

Yes, the car is legally yours.
This could lead to financial problems for you.
You are better off just gifting him the car, or selling it to him for a $1.00 token fee to relieve yourself of any legal or financial burden.

For example, he could drive the car, kill a family, destroying their $500,000 Bentley, and destroying a $5,000,000 mansion.

Guess what?

You could find yourself on the hook in a civil trial defending yourself from paying those damages.

Get rid of that sword of Damocles hanging over your head, sign the old car over to him, and then whatever he does won't involve you.
