thanks for compassion:
as short term, is there any type of check a person can make that withdraws money from ones personal cash account immediately (to reduce balance), so you can keep the check with you for 2-3 months, so no one knows your higher balance

If not for the fact that the title of your thread contains an answer to your question, I would simply tell you that it's not the purpose of this forum to guide you in cheating your creditors.

If you have $10,000 in your checking account and wish eliminate the possibility that someone could lawfully confiscate all or part of it, what's stopping you from closing the account and putting the cash proceeds in a safe, secure place known only to you?

If I were in your position, I'd avoid doing what you inquired about.

Thx. can cashier check be made to self? how long can it be kept?

Cashier's Check

The rules to deposit or cash a cashier's check vary from bank to bank with no guidance from the UCC. Some banks print a deadline on their cashier's checks, says Nate Nieri, president of San Diego-based financial planning firm Modern Money Management.

"The financial institution might put 'expires in X days,'" Nieri says. "Try to be mindful of that (date), but you can always contact the institution and see what they say."
Old cashier's checks may eventually be turned over to the state government as unclaimed property. Rules and timelines vary by state. Many states have an online portal where you can search for unclaimed property, such as an old cashier's check, that's legally yours.

How Long is a Cashier's Check Good?

Question:
How long is a cashier's check good from the date of issue?
Answer:
In general, a cashier's check is good forever, but the issuing bank is subject to the abandoned property laws of various states. If time passes and the funds covered by a check become subject to an abandoned property law, the cashier's check claim would have to be made with the applicable state's abandoned property office, usually part of the state's treasurer's office.

I'm not sure I completely follow what you're asking. I'm unaware of any types of checks other than regular checks and cashier's checks.

The owner or other authorized user of a checking account can write a check at any time. The writing of the check will have no impact on the account's balance until such time as the payee on the check negotiates the check by depositing or cashing it.

A cashier's check is issued by the bank itself and is not tied to any particular account. An account owner or authorized user can buy a cashier's check from the bank by using money in his/her account, and that purchase will reduce the balance of the account (just like any other purchase). The purchaser of the check can hold the check for as long as he/she wants (subject to the expiration date that may appear on the check). Keep in mind that there is a fee to buy a cashier's check.

What I really don't understand is that bit about "no one know[ing] your higher balance." Does someone have access to your account and you want to deceive that person about the balance of the account? If so, that person would presumably also be able to see the history of the account, which would show the purchase of a cashier's check.

What is it that has prompted you to ask about this?

can cashier check be made to self?

Yes.

how long can it be kept?

It depends on the bank.
