im a 20 year old in texas and i got caught stealing $45 worth of merchandise. stupid. i know. i walked out with the item on me got dettained by LPs and had to sign the papers to be banned from the store chain took pictures of me and everything. the police came and gave me a citation and took a copy of my picture and item i tried to steal aswell... i have a court date in a couple of weeks and i am confused about what to do know...
number one how much is the store going to fine me in the letter they said they would mail?
item stolen was worth $45. since the store recovered the item is it any less than if i would have damaged it ?
Number two. how much is the police fine going to be for? it was a class c misdemenor under $50.
And number three what do i do in court?
Should i fight it?
is their any way to get it dissmissed?
Community service or anything?
