Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Caught Shoplifting, first time.

I am in Oregon, got caught shoplifting from Walmart, it was 38 or so dollars, they called the police, I now have a court date and on the ticket it says theft III. What kind of charges do you think I will be facing? I'm expecting a fine, will this be on my record forever?? I have never been arrested before, or had any other charges.

If convicted yes you will have a record. What you should do is start calling Lawyers and when you meet with them ask if Diversion is available in your case
