Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Caught Shoplifting

Hello all,
So I was caught shoplifting from a Store Name a while ago when I was 14. So the item was worth about 2 dollars and I was apprehended when I was at the door leaving. So I was taken to the back and I found out that the person who caught me was actually an plain clothed cop. He basically took all my information such as Name, School, Address and Phone Number. And that was all my parents were called and informed to pick me up, which they did. And then a few months later my parents received a letter stating that I had to pay a civil demand in the amount of $200 and they immediately paid them.
And also I was told that I was banned and would be arrested upon trespassing.
So I have two questions. Is there a certain time which the store has banned me for or is this ban permanent?
And also because I was 14 and was not arrested or fingerprinted or anything of the sort will this be on any sort of record that will prevent me from say getting a job or getting into college?

We discourage the posting of "Store Names". This is for your protection. I have edited that portion of your post. Stores ban for different periods of time so you need to contact the store and ask how long your ban is. A criminal background check will not come up with this incident

Oh and one more thing, if any would this be on any sort of record and who would be able to see it?

If Police were not involved and you have no court date then only record is with store and any retail theft database they might have placed your name in

Well thats just the thing, the person who caught me was a plain clothed police officer.
But all they did was have me sit and he just filled out a form.

You know this person was Police how?

Uh after I was caught and taken to the back he told me that he was a police officer.

Its odd that a Police Officer would be working Loss Prevention (the rules are vastly different). Lets say he was. He was not acting as a Police Official he was acting as Store Security! Again big difference. If he did not give you a citation or tell you a court date was pending its unlikely the store pressed charges

Up to the store, it is a private buisness, they can tell you never to come back.
