Few years back, was about 18 or so, stole some item under $10 and got caught. LP stopped me outside the store and brought me into their office. Didnt call the cops but made me give them ALL my info, SS, address and all. I did not lie to them bc i was scared sh**less. they said i was in the system so that if i get caught again id go straight to jail. after they got all my info down, i was let free.
It was during some summer couple years back and I didn't have a job then or until recently. I had began school so that was taking up my time. Decided I needed a job during the beginning of the summer this year. I applied everywhere and only one place called back. Its a retail store in a mall and i got hired. Went to some interviews and after that was said and done, they said they would do a background check and call me back. Right when i heard that, chills went through my back bc all i could think of was my incident i had. well i got hired. this is a huge chain that im sure uses the nation retail theft database.
so does that mean im not in the system or they took a gamble with me?
another question. this store treats me like crap and isn't giving their employees any hours (and i know i do a good job because all my managers say so and customers give me appreciation, too). So i told them im gonna start looking for another job. well being in college, all i could find are retail jobs. it got me thinking about the NRTD system again because as of right now im applying to different places, one of them being at a place ive already worked for, which was BEFORE my shoplifting incident, that are using that system.
Since I got hired at a retail store recently, does that mean im good to go or should i be worried about being in the system?
