I was at a store with some friends and we got caught stealing in California. They had all stolen several things and I only stole a doll worth around $8 for my sister. They are charging me with conspiracy or whatever that is (I heard the cop say that) and I was wondering what could happen to me and what I should do in court. Oh I also don't have anything on my record and I'm 18.

I suggest you stop talking about this sordid incident, EXCEPT with your lawyer.
The police don't have the FINAL say as to what crime you might ultimately be charged with violating.
The prosecutor has that authority.
So, you start by going silent.
You stop admitting to anything.
You appear in court as instructed, plead NOT guilty, and ask the court to appoint a public defender to represent you, unless you can afford to hire your own attorney!
After the court appearance, you arrange a meeting with your public defender, or wait until he or she contacts you.
Conspiracy is a very serious charge, but wait until your lawyer steps in to receive a more thorough explanation.
For your own sake, stay away from the others, and stay out of anymore trouble.

I am a retail theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. As stated above answer no questions unless they come from your Lawyer or you have a Lawyer present. When you talk to your Lawyer ask about defense options and ask about ACD or Diversion as possible plea options to protect your record

It is not uncommon for petty theft offenses with such a low value to be handled as infractions (like a ticket) that get you a fine but no criminal record. Your attorney/public defender can give you an idea of what to expect when the time comes.
