I was terminated due to accusation of theft, which I did not do, there is absolutely no proof that I stole anything either.. I understand that I can be fired for any reason, but my boss as well as the other employees have been talking to clients about the situation and are telling people I stole.. I work in a very tight community and gossip spreads like wildfire. I spoke to an attorney who told me, while it wont get my job back and I can still be denied unemployment.. etc, it will prevent her or anyone else from slandering my name. Is it worth the $100?

FYI, a wrongful termination does not mean that you were termed for something you didn't do; it means that you were termed for a reason prohibited by law. Therefore, while you may have been unfairly terminated, you were not wrongfully terminated as defined by law.

Only you can decide if it's worth the money.

I'm not asking about being terminated.. I am concerned about them continuing to slander my name..

It's your call what you do. You've consulted with an attorney in your area. You were given an answer. You can try to do whatever floats YOUR boat.

I'm correcting your incorrect use of the term.

I cannot and will not second guess your attorney. Does HE think it's worth the money? If so, do it. If not, don't.
