The consulting company I was contracting with is filing for chapter 7. They have not paid me for about 3 months [apprx 30k]. What should I do?

You will recieve a notice of the bankruptcy sent by the court clerk that tells you where to file a proof of claim and the deadline for doing so. Act promptly since deadlines are strictly enforced in bankruptcy case.

Attach a copy of any contracts or judgment concerning your claim, or a summary of the claim, if the supporting documents are voluminous to the proof of claim form. Get the claim form on line if the court did not send one to you.

Thank you mlane58.

I hear that chances of getting full amount is very slim. Can I explore options of criminally charging the CXOs who has mismanaged the money? I know they got all payment from the clients but did not pay me.

You can explore it I guess, but how are going to prove that this employer was criminally negligent? Besides, the decision will be up to your local DA whether any crimes have been committed and is it worth their time to prosecute.
