If the person pressing charges on me lied to police about where they were at can the charges be dropped?

Charges can be "dropped" by the DA for any reason the DA chooses. Whether a complainant's lie about where they were will impact that decision depends on what was said compared to where they actually were. If they said they were on the driveway and were actually at the curb, I doubt it's going to be a big deal. If they said they were in San Francisco but were actually in Oakland, that could be a problem.
