My Grandmother passed away, I am the sole beneficiary in her will. When I called to notify the bank that houses he checking account I was told that my cousin had added himself as "co-owner" of the account. I was under the impression that he was only POA on the account which would cease upon her death. With him listed as co-owner, and me as beneficiary, what rights do I have now that she has passed? What do I need to do to prove that I am beneficiary, and will that allow me to gain access to the account for burial expenses?

You have no "rights", insofar as the bank account is concerned.

If the cousin is a "joint owner with rights of survivor-ship", your cousin is legally entitled to all that loot.
