Checks Issued form and Estate

A family member owned a business and when they passed away the business closed. After the business closed I worked to help clean the business out. The court allowed checks to be issued to the ones who helped with cleaning from the estate account. Now the executor of the estate is saying the court is now saying it was not alright to issue these checks and the money has to be paid back. Is this legal? What would happen if I don't pay the money back?

I guess it depends on the family relationship more than the money. If you helped and the payment was reasonable, then you should have been paid by the estate. What the PR is saying doesn't sound right. They could sue you for the return of the money but I don't see how they would prevail.
