Up until about 4 weeks ago my 6 year old daughter was living with her mother in Mesa, AZ while I was living in Kennewick, WA. At that time I got a phone call that my daughter had been picked up by Arizona CPS for allegations of drug abuse and neglect. After a phone meeting they allowed me to come down and pick up my daughter. She has been living with me for about 3 weeks now and is enrolled at the local school. Since then her mother has moved back to Washington State and is living in Bellingham, WA. I want to file for sole custody of my daughter with supervised visitation for her mother until her mother goes through a drug rehabilitation program and is willing to submit to some form of drug testing. I have just finished working for the Census Bureau and am now unemployed and not bringing in much money. Are there any resources out there to help me start this process or get some legal help? I need to file something as soon as possible because I am not sure what kind of legal rights her mother still has. Can she simply come out here and pick up my daughter because nothing has been filed yet within the courts?
