My daughter witnessed her best friend Ashley be molested by Ashley's brother Jonathan, while Ashley was asleep. My daughter pretend to be sleeping while this was going on. The next day my daughter told Ashley what she seen the night before. Ashley then confessed that her older brother Jonathan has been touching her for a long time. He always told Ashley that that is what people do and it was perfectly fine. Soon after my daughter witnessing this, Ashley was admitted into a mental facility and treated for suicidal thoughts and major depression. While she was in the in this facility she told the doctors and counselors what was going on at home. Charges were brought upon Jonathan and he was found guilty of this. Ashley's father Robin, sides 100% with Jonathan. He does not believe that his son did that to Ashley, even after seeing the results of a failed lie detector test. When Ashley was able to be discharged she came to stay with me and my family. Ashley was with me and my family for about 2 months before she was forced to leave. DCFS determined that Ashley was able to go back to live with her father and brother in a two bedroom apartment, under strict conditions. For example, the whole family (dad, son, and daughter) was suppose to get family counseling, Ashley and Jonathan could no longer share a room, and the children were to be supervised at all time. I know for a fact that none of this has happened. As for Ashley's mother, she has only visitation rights, which she chooses never to use. She is mentally and psychically disabled. She has not been in contact with Ashley in over a year, prior to this incident. Now the father filed a motion that will be heard in front of a judge on Monday for granted permission the move Jonathan and Ashley from the state. Ashley has told me numerous times that she would do anything she could to get away from her brother including kill herself. My fear is that this will happen. Is there any way that I can get custody of Ashley? Is there even anything that I could do to prevent this from happening? When Ashley was living with me she had no more suicidal thoughts and her depression was under control. Also, Ashley is accident prone. When Ashley gets hurts Robin just gives her his prescription pain pills instead of taking her to see a doctor. Also, he is verbally abusive to Ashley. And I also have reason to believe that Robin is abusing his pain medication. He can even walk straight half the time. Please advise on what I am able to do.
