Child custody

So I just moved to the city that my mom lives in mainly for my nieces. My sister gave up custody to my mother when the girls were just a few months old. They are 8 and 9 now. My mother hasn't had a job in over 5 years. She is married but currently seperated from her husband. He lost his job and then they lost their house. He lives with his mother and my mother lives with a family friend. In a two bedroom home. With 8 little dogs and one cat. They have bed bugs like crazy and one of my nieces are getting eaten alive. My mother still isn't trying to get a job and is living off of 420$ a month from the girls. Plus food stamps. The girls are constantly moving places to sleep due to the bed bugs. They have very little clothes that fit them because they are growing like crazy. We have a 3 bedroom home and want the girls to move in. If my mother signs a form at the school temporarily changing the girls' address to mine, would it be easier for me to get custody of them? She will not sign them over to me no matter what. She wants to move to Montana when she gets money that's supposed to come in. She has never been to Montana, she hasn't been looking for houses, schools, or jobs down there. She wants to leave the girls with me while she goes up to Montana until she finds a place to live. With that temporary custody I am going to have, will it be even that much easier to get custody of the girls since she doesn't have job, or home?

My step father lost his jobs to drugs and the house, my mother confessed to doing it with him a few times. She still sees him all the time when hey are supposed to be broken up so I still have my suspicions of her doing them and it scares me to think the girls aren't in a good home and getting taken care of like they need to be.

Why have you a.) not helped your mother with the girls' expenses (including clothing, etc), or b.) contacted DHR/DHS/DFC/CPS if things are that horrible? Instead, you're plotting and planning.

For one, I didn't ask for your critisism. For two, I just got done spending over 300$ on both of them 3 weeks ago. Every time I came down to visit I have always bought them what they needed most. For your infrotmation I constantly help my mother when she asks. We just moved here last week. I am not going to call cps when there could be a possibility that I wouldn't be the one to get them in the situation of not being close enough. Now that I'm in the same city it's seeming to be easier. So if your going to keep criticizing me when you don't know the whole story then I'm more than glad to ask someone else. Thanks.

If things are so bad, and you haven't contacted the proper authorities, you'll not be considered for placement; you'll be considered part of the problem.

The little babies need to rescued.
The kids are at great risk, if what you allege is true.
It doesn't matter who gets custody.

It only matters that dear, precious, helpless little darlings are living in squalor, having their blood being eaten by insects, and those same insects defecating wherever those sweet, innocent kids are being forced to sleep.

If I knew that, or even suspected it, I'd contact the police.
The police would save those dear babies and contact the child protection agency in their state!!!

Please do what is in the best interests of the children whether that is contacting the police and/or CPS (even if that might mean you will not get custody/temporary custody).
