Hi,
I am a mother of 3 (2 being special needs) living in the home and resides in NC and also have one other child that resides with his father in MI. The only income I have had for the past two years is school loans as I am a full time student. I have a child support order that has been stoped and started multiple times by the father(plantiff). The order was for $113 a week for one child as I have been unemployed for many years. I have now received papers in the mail stating that I have to appear to the Friend of Court in MI for a show cause to explain why I should not be held in contempt. The current support order was stoped by the plaintiff over a year ago, so the only money owed is in past dues which equals to $21, 457.
What do I do? Who can I contact to help me resolve this issue without a bad outcome happening?
