Was legally divorced in 1996 in New York. Did not have a job at that point, and agreed to $40 / weekly support. Ex-wife never went in for modification. Stupidly paid her cash all of this time and never got a receipt because "we wanted to keep it friendly". Child has been ill, necessetating frequent hospitalizations, with long stretches of child not living w/ custodial parent. I do have medical bills absorbed all by me, w/ no help for the ex. Of course, ex now claims I never paid a dime in support.
